Kahlie moved to Huntersville, NC after graduating from Wake Forest University in 2013 with a degree in Health and Exercise Science. A native of Western New York, she began running at the varsity level in seventh grade and has been passionate about health and fitness ever since. While at Wake Forest, she was the Head Manager of the women’s soccer team and a volunteer coach with Crazy Running. She has also volunteered as a physical therapy assistant, worked as a YMCA Wellness Coach, and is a Certified Personal Trainer. She has competed in a variety of 5Ks, and obstacle course races. In her spare time she enjoys running with her dog, hiking, and living an active lifestyle.
Kathy Newberry, from Burke VA is a graduate of the College of William & Mary where she competed in cross country and track. After graduation she qualified for three-straight U.S. Olympic Trials from 2004-12. She ran both the 5,000m and 10,000m in 2004, the 10,000m in 2008, and the marathon in 2012. Kathy has qualified for Team USA seven times. She was a five-time competitor at the World Cross Country Championships, captaining Team USA in 2009, and also made the World Track Championships marathon and the NACAC Cross Country Championships in 2011. From 2005-2010 She served as head coach for William and Mary's women's cross country and track programs. She guided her teams to 10 CAA titles, including five in cross country, while garnering seven CAA Coach of the Year awards. Kathy is married to Charlotte cross country coach Alex Gibby and they both spend their free time running after their 3 year old twins Cora and Anson and their Golden Retrievers Oskar and Atlas.
Allison is a junior at Davidson College majoring in English from Nashville, TN. She is on both the cross country, and the track and field teams at Davidson College. Allison began running competitively in seventh grade. In Nashville, she has coached multiple track camps, as well as volunteering with Girls on the Run during her first two years at Davidson College. Besides loving to run and compete, Allison enjoys kayaking, hiking, and being active along with spending quality time with her friends.
Lisa has been dedicated to fitness for over 25 years. She started running 17 years ago as part of her regular exercise regime and fell in love with racing about 8 years ago. Lisa has enjoyed all distances and terrain from 5k to marathons, road to trails and everything in between.
Being from Long Island Lisa's dream was to run the NYC Marathon. In 2014 she achieved that dream; enjoying the unique one of a kind atmosphere that The NYC Marathon provides.
Along with being a runner Lisa is a Registered Dietitian. Her experience also includes being a personal trainer and teaching all ages and class types from kids boot camp, adult kickboxing, rebounding, strength training to silver sneakers classes.
She has dedicated her life to a healthy lifestyle not only for herself, but for others as well. Lisa brings passion, joy and motivation to those she shares her love of physical fitness with; which translates to helping people achieve their goals.
When Lisa is not coaching her Crazy Running group you can find her running around town with her own social running team DART (Davidson Area Running Team), at the Lake Norman YMCA or at the Melting Point hot yoga studio.
Lisa shares her love of fitness with her husband, daughter (age 8) and son (age 6).
Tyler, originally from Cleveland Ohio, moved to Huntersville, NC after graduating from Wake Forest University in 2013. Tyler has always enjoyed living an active lifestyle. He enjoys running 5Ks, playing baseball, and weight training. He started coaching baseball when he was a senior in high school, since then he has found many opportunities to coach and encourage children. After volunteering at countless Crazy Running practices, Tyler decided to become a part of the Crazy Running Team!
Sarah is a junior at Davidson College, where she runs cross country and track. She runs everything from the 800 meters to the 5k, while specializing in the mile. Sarah is originally from the Washington, D.C. area but lived in South America for 6 years. Sarah loves coffee, books, cooking, and all things outdoors, especially running, hiking, and camping.
