Ann McGranahan Thomas
Ann has lived in Blacksburg for the past 11 years and currently is the mother to two young children while running competitively when she has the time. Her passion is coaching athletes of all ages and levels. Prior to being a mom, she was a volunteer assistant at Virginia Tech and the head cross country/distance track coach for men and women at Radford University. As an athlete, she ran for ZapFitness and New Balance with the 5k being her specialty running 15:46 at the USATF national track and field championships. She graduated from Villanova University in 2001. She was a member of the 1998 NCAA cross country championship team and multiple Big East champion and national qualifier on the track. She is from Pensacola, Florida where she was a Florida state champion in cross country, the mile and 2 mile.
